British Summer Stylin'

It's the first day of July which should mean Summer is definitely in swing, however the UK weather has not been as blistering hot as I'd hoped so far. With the chill hanging in the air and the threat of rainfall it's been so difficult to know how to dress. I've really been loving the whole western festival vibe and I can't wait to try the trend with a pair of daisy dukes, but until then I've been trying pass the style off in a more suitable way. Bringing out my acclimatised inner cow girl.

A couple of days ago I got my hands on this fab fedora, I'm a sucker for a good hat but this one has to be my favourite since it's super versatile. It looks cute with this look but I have plans to style it with a patterned playsuit or perhaps even a simple summer dress. Best of all, I found this in the Topshop sale for only £8! A fedora is a statement piece for your wardrobe, it can be worn like this casually, or dressed up. They are strongly associated with the late 1800s glamour scene and honestly I feel like they make every outfit have a quirky little edge.

Another stylistic piece I've tried to incorporate into this outfit is my Pretty Little Thing choker. I'm living in this long suede choker, it's so pretty and a little bit different to the normal choker trend. Also keeping up with the western trend, it strongly resembles a bolo tie when properly wrapped and tied. I stole the idea of tying it in a bow from Charlotte Crosby, the bow manages to give the look another dimension while also being super feminine.

Due to the length of the choker, I paired it with a simple bardot bodysuit. The cold-shoulder style gives the choker a bit more space to show off. Again, I've just slipped on my trusty ripped skinny jeans (that I will imagine are shorts).

Accessorising this look, is my stunning double buckle western belt. If there is anything I would recommend you having in your wardrobe this summer, it would be a western belt. They are all the rage this season, you can wear one casually with jeans and a tee or around the waist in a dress just to extenuate your natural curves.

Finally topping off the look, is a pair of Missguided boots. Their cut out sides and pointed toes are a direct reference to cowboy boots. These boots do actually come with removable detailed straps and chains, that do look really good on, however sometimes less is more.

I have to say while I do love this look, I really hope I won't have to wear it again anytime soon. I'm praying for the sun and to get my legs out, so hopefully I can embrace the style in the way it's meant to be, summery.
